Crochet Hanging Basket

Hook: US G

Yarn: It’s no longer labeled, I’m afraid. Just some spare stash yarn.

Pattern:

Ch 2, sc 6 in 1st st – 6 sts.
Sc 2 in each sc – 12 sts.
1 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 18 sts.
2 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 24 sts.
3 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 30 sts.
4 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 36 sts.
5 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 42 sts.
6 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 48 sts.
7 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 54 sts.
8 sc, sc 2 in sc, repeat – 60 sts.
[ch 2, dc in same stitch, ch 2, dc in 3rd sc, repeat until end of row, end with a sl st in the first ch 2] – Do this for 6 rows.
Sc row 3 times.
Bind off.

Join yarn to where you want the handles to start. Sc 5.
Ch 1, sc 5, turn.
Repeat for 50 rows.
Join to the opposite side.
Bind off.

Weave in all ends.

And now you have a thing.

I have a bit of a trail mix addiction and instead of recycling all of the tubs, I’ve started saving a couple to organize things. I found that started sock in the bottom of my sock yarn storage bag thing, so I opted to toss all that into the tub so I wouldn’t loose any of it. And it will be handy for when I get back to working on that sock so that yarn doesn’t roll all over my floor for the cat to play with. And I don’t have to put the yarn in a plastic bag that my cat with also play with.

If he plays with this bucket thing, at least it’ll be stable enough to withstand the claws.

Speaking of my cat, here he is hanging out with a hanging thinger I made out of some hemp.
