Doctor Who Scarf

Doctor Who Scarf

You know I had to make one of these, right?

If you didn’t know, I’m an insane Doctor Who fan. I discovered the show via its modern revival about two years ago and by now I've seen every television portrayal of the Doctor except for Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann.

Naturally, once I started in on Tom Baker’s seven year stint as the Doctor, I had to make myself one of these scarves. How could I not?

The final push to start on this project was a giant bag of yarn that my aunt had cleaned out of her house. I had about half of the colors (or approximations thereof – the brown is darker than in the actual show) and thought why the hell not. The pattern I used is the Season 12 pattern from DoctorWhoScarf.Com, but I cut down the cast on to about the mid-40s instead of 66. It measures about 15 feet from end to end with 5 inch fringe on the ends.

Honestly? Best project I’ve ever made. I live in this scarf.

Yeah, in worsted weight yarn, you only need about 42 stitches.

60 stitches in Sport or DK weight.

I've made some conversions. . .

Congrats on finishing your scarf!

Looks great!!
